Aloha PIK 2: Sustaining Flow in a Cultural Landmark

Where tourism, creativity and clean water circulation go hand in hand
Set along the northern coast of Jakarta, Aloha PIK 2 at Pasir Putih beach has quickly become a vibrant lifestyle andtourism destination. Since its opening in 2023, it has drawn visitors with its distinctive charm, offering a blend of local culinary experiences, entertainment and retail spaces designed to celebrate Indonesia’s cultural richness. With strategic proximity to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and direct toll access, the development forms part of a larger vision to make PIK 2 a leading hub for both domestic and international visitors.

As with many thoughtfully planned public spaces, water plays an important role in shaping the ambience at Aloha. Landscaped water features are integrated into the grounds to enhance the setting, provide visual calm and offer a cooling effect in the tropical climate. These amenities, while relaxing to experience, require consistent water quality and smooth circulation to function as intended.

Smart Water Management Starts with the Right System
To support Aloha PIK 2’s landscaped water features, PT Sumber Tirta Destech, the project’s contractor, selecteda tailored range of Waterco equipment. With years of experience managing installations in similar high-traffic environments, their choice was guided by three key requirements: reliability, ease of maintenance and long-term performance.

Equipment Designed for Demanding Outdoor Use
Each unit was selected with a purpose. The Supatuf series pumps, known for their strong hydraulic performance and corrosion-resistant components, help maintain steady water circulation across different parts of the system. Whether handling recirculation for shallow pools or managing larger decorative flows, these pumps are built to handle sustained use with minimal energy waste.

For filtration, the project utilised Aquabiome biological filters, a system specifically engineered for ponds and outdoor water gardens. Aquabiome combines mechanical and biological filtration in a single unit, making it particularly effective in public spaces where water quality and clarity must be maintained consistently. The design allows beneficial bacteria to thrive while the integrated backwash system simplifies routine maintenance.

With both Aquabiome and Supatuf, we were able to optimise performance across various feature sizes, ensuring that even water exposed to environmental debris or biological load remains clean, balanced and visually appealing.

Creating Experiences That Flow Naturally
Aloha PIK 2 has become a magnet for cultural tourism, family outings and social gatherings. Visitors may not notice the technical systems running behind the scenes, but they certainly benefit from them. Waterco’s equipment helps maintain the sense of relaxation and cleanliness that makes the space enjoyable to return to, day or night.

With the right mix of technology, experience and smart design choices, Aloha’s water features are more than just decorative, they are part of what makes the place memorable.
